Department of Anthropology, College of Arts and Sciences, University at Albany, SUNY.

Overview

This position is a 2026-27 academic-year appointment in the Department of Anthropology dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of humanity across time and space. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of three courses per semester, primarily focused on undergraduate major courses in Human Biology.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Teaching lab sections for Human Anatomy and Physiology (AANT 316 / AANT 318) and upper-level courses in Biological Anthropology/Human Biology, or other courses as assigned.
  • University, College, and Department service and other reasonable duties as assigned.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
  • Reports to:

    Department Chair
  • May supervise employees as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within the diverse campus community.
  • Demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to the role.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. degree or terminal degree from an accredited college or university (U.S. Department of Education accredited or internationally accredited).
  • Experience teaching at the college or university level.
  • Experience teaching human anatomy and physiology at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. degree or terminal degree in Biological Anthropology, Biology, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching undergraduates in Biological Anthropology, Biology or related discipline.
Working Environment

Typical office, classroom, and instructional laboratory environment.
