A Visiting Assistant Professor (academic‑year appointment) for the 2026‑27 academic year in the Department of Anthropology, University at Albany, SUNY. The position is for a large and growing undergraduate major in Human Biology and carries teaching obligations for Human Anatomy and Physiology lab sections (AANT 316/AANT 318) and upper‑level Biological Anthropology/Human Biology courses. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester.

• Teaching lab sections for Human Anatomy and Physiology (AANT 316/AANT 318) and upper‑level courses in Biological Anthropology/Human Biology, or other courses as assigned.
• University, College, Department Service and other reasonable duties as assigned.

• Reports to:
  
  Department Chair
• May supervise employees as assigned

• Demonstrated ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within a diverse campus community.
• Demonstrated ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to the role.

• Ph.D. degree or terminal degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience teaching at the college or university level.
• Experience teaching human anatomy and physiology at the undergraduate or graduate level.

• Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology, Biology, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience teaching undergraduates in Biological Anthropology, Biology, or related discipline.

• Typical office, classroom, and instructional laboratory environment.
