Overview

The Child Research and Study Center is an official university-based unit that has a longstanding, externally funded hub of interdisciplinary scholarship dedicated to improving student outcomes across academic and developmental domains. For decades, the center has sustained competitive federal, state, and foundation funding to design, evaluate, and scale evidence-based practices that include social-emotional and behavioral health with literacy development widely shown to be interconnected in promoting student success.

Through partnerships with schools and communities, the center advances inclusive approaches that support all learners, including students with disabilities, while contributing to the research base, professional development, and policy guidance needed to improve educational systems at scale.

This work is supported by the Preschool Development Birth through Five Initiative (PDG B-5) Grant Number 90TP, from the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in contract with the New York State Council on Children and Families.
