Child Care Program Specialist

Position

After School Program Counselor, Part Time Seasonal Position up to 40 hours weekly.

Program runs most School Days Mon–Fri 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM during the academic school year. Salary: $14.25 – $15.25 per hour.

• Assist with program student-to-staff ratio, and plan and execute a wide range of enrichment programs and activities.
• Set up and clean up; distribute dinner; ensure activities follow schedule and receive appropriate supervision.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the program; seek assistance from the supervisor when necessary.
• Work closely with the PAL Executive Director, Program Manager, Site Coordinator, and Building Principal to ensure smooth transitions between activities and report any issues promptly.
• Complete any other duties assigned by the Executive Director, Program Manager, or Site Coordinator; demonstrate schedule flexibility.
• Organize lesson plans for students under your supervision.
• Utilize programs that meet state minimums and standards.
• Order and manage supplies for classrooms based on the chosen curriculum standards.
• Train staff according to the curriculum and program guidelines.

• Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and programs.
• Experience working directly with children in a safe and positive atmosphere.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
• Background check / fingerprints as required.
• Meet state‑specific guidelines and hold any applicable certifications.
• Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers and families to ensure a positive learning experience.
