Adjunct Faculty in Creative Arts - Concert Band
The Creative Arts Department is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor to teach a 3-credit course/ensemble in instrumental performance named Concert Band. This is a part-time position.
Class time:
Wed. 6-9pm.
Participate in curricular assessments for personal professional development, and for departmental and curriculum assessment.
Work with colleagues in a shared classroom and participate in cleanup and organization.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have earned a terminal degree in music, or commensurate experience.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in the following:
- Conducting, rehearsal, and communication skills
- Mentoring students who play a broad range of instruments
- Keyboard accompanying
- Knowledge of a varied ensemble repertoire
- In addition, the candidate should have the ability to move standard classroom furniture for setup and reset, and to coordinate events and use of facilities spaces with colleagues across campus. A public performance is typically required.
- A background screening will be required.
Additional Information:
Salary $1,333.34 per contact hour
The hiring salary above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.
