The ACE Advisor resides in the Academic Support Center (ASC), which serves as an undergraduate advisement resource center for all undergraduate students as well as for faculty and staff who work with students in an advising relationship. ASC provides individual academic advisement, coordinates pre-professional advisement, offers individualized support services, and connects students to University-wide resources.
The ACE Advisor will provide individualized academic and personal support to a cohort of students enrolled in the ACE (Advancing Completion through Engagement) program at the University Advisor plays an essential role in guiding students through their academic journey, helping them navigate challenges, and connecting them with resources to ensure timely graduation.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive academic advising, including personalized guidance on course selection, degree planning, and academic progression to ensure students meet educational and career goals.
- Deliver student support and retention services by identifying academic, personal, and financial barriers; connect students with appropriate campus and community resources; and implement targeted interventions to promote persistence and success.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance by maintaining accurate records, tracking progress, and using data to inform proactive outreach and support strategies.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate workshops and programming on topics such as study skills, time management, financial literacy, and career exploration to enhance student readiness and engagement.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and program stakeholders; assist with student recruitment and orientation; stay current on best practices through professional development; attend staff meetings, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, social work, psychology, or a related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in academic advising, college counseling, or student services in a higher education setting.
- Experience using advising and student information systems (e.g., People Soft, EAB Navigate, Starfish).
- Masters degree in higher education, counseling, or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Experience advising or mentoring first-generation, low-income, and/or underrepresented college students.
- Experience with instructional technologies and online communication (e.g., Brightspace, Slate).
