The Computer Science Department within the College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering at the University at Albany, SUNY, is seeking applicants for a full‑time, Visiting Lecturer position to begin Fall 2025. The position is for the 2025‑2026 academic year, with the possibility of renewal for 2026‑27.
Primary Responsibilities- Teaching (base three‑three teaching load)
- Department, college, and university‑level service.
- Reports to Computer Sciences Chair
- Supervises the following positions: NA
- May supervise as assigned (if no direct reports at time of filling position)
- Candidates must be prepared to teach a variety of fundamental undergraduate computer science courses, develop and improve courses, advise students, and serve on departmental committees.
- Lecturers are expected to commit to excellence in teaching and to constantly review and improve the pedagogy they use to engage and support student learning.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.
- MS in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution is required.
- While most instruction will be in‑person, applicants should also address their willingness for and experience with teaching remotely or online.

- Ph.D. in Computer Science, or related area degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Prior college or university teaching experience is preferred.
- Class schedules may include courses offered after 5 pm on weekdays.
- This position will require occasional evening and weekend work to support events and community activities.
- Travel within New York State and beyond may be necessary.
