Visiting Assistant Professor; Academic- appointment Psychology

About the Role

The Department of Psychology will hire two Visiting Assistant Professors for the 2026-27 academic year for its online education program. This is a one‑year temporary appointment with possible extension to one additional year based on review and university approval. The Assistant Professors will teach three undergraduate psychology courses each semester, for a total of six courses during the academic year. Courses may include Introductory Statistics, Introduction to Psychology, and advanced courses.

Instructors are expected to teach asynchronous online courses, although in‑person courses may be available for local candidates.

• Teach three undergraduate courses per semester (six courses total in the academic year).
• Provide service to the university, college, department, and other duties as assigned.

• Reports to:
  
  Department Chair.
• May supervise employees as assigned.

• Demonstrate the ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
• Demonstrate the ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.

• Ph.D. degree or terminal degree in psychology or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally accrediting organization by 08/21/2026.
• Experience teaching at the college or university level.

• Experience teaching Introduction to Psychology and undergraduate statistics.
• Experience teaching online asynchronous courses.

• Typical office, classroom environment.

• Visiting Assistant Professor (Academic‑year appointment).
