Adjunct Faculty in Introduction of Music
The Creative Arts Department is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor to teach up to two sections of CREA
103 - Introduction to Music in Fall 2026. This is a part-time position. The course will introduce students to the concepts and skills necessary for a variety of musical studies. Topics include the foundational elements of music, basic Western music notation, listening, aural analysis, technologies, and careers in music.
Sections are scheduled:
Tuesday/Thursday, 2:40pm-4:10pm and 4:20pm-5:50pm.
Requirements:
Candidates must have earned a terminal degree in Music, or commensurate experience. Availability to teach scheduled Tuesday/Thursday sections from 2:40 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. Participate in curricular assessments for personal professional development, and for departmental and college core curriculum assessment. Work with colleagues in shared classroom spaces.
Salary: $1,333.34 per contact hour. This is a part-time position. The hiring salary above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.
