Public Information Manager (Digital Content)
The Office of Communications at the Department of Labor (DOL) is responsible for all internal and external agency communications. The Office works in coordination across the agency to amplify the work the Department does on behalf of all agency customers.
The Public Information Manager (Digital Content) oversees the development and execution of the digital communications strategy for the website, intranet, and internal communications. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for the agency's public website and intranet to ensure alignment with organizational goals, enhance user experience, and promote effective communication.
- Oversee the creation, editing, and publishing of all content for the public website and intranet, ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Supervise and mentor a team of web content specialists, assign tasks, setting priorities, and managing workloads to ensure timely and high-quality project completion. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, encouraging professional development and skill-building.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors on construction of new agency website.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight throughout the website development lifecycle, ensuring the new site meets user needs and organizational objectives.
- Work with agency divisions to understand their communication needs and ensure the website and intranet effectively deliver their services to our collective customers. Data on content consumption and user inquiries will be used to demonstrate the value of web content and identify areas where specific divisions can leverage digital platforms more effectively.
- Participate in change in organizational transformations, ensuring successful adoption and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Engage in technology and innovation by leveraging emerging technologies to optimize processes and enhance customer experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of experience
* in public relations, social media, and digital communications, two (2) years of which must have included program management or supervision of professional staff. - * Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or a similar degree substitutes for two (2), four (4), or five (5) years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Proven experience developing and executing data-based digital strategies.
- Experience building a website with guidance from a vendor.
- Familiarity with digital accessibility standards.
- Experience working within a government or large organizational setting.
Candidates with no previous state service will begin at the starting rate of the salary range listed above.
