The Department of Educational Policy & Leadership is dedicated to enhancing the understanding and practice of educationalleadership and policy at all levels of the education system, cradle-to-career. We advance this mission through our programs of teaching, research, and engagement with practitioners and scholar sin the field. We offer doctoral, master's and advanced graduatecertificates in higher education leadership, educational policy and school leadership. The Department of Educational Policy & Leadership (EPL) in the School of Education at the University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Higher Education. We seek a scholar whose research and teaching focus on Higher Education. Particular interest exists in candidates whose work draws upon organizational theory to advanceunderstanding of postsecondary institutions, systems, leadership,and change, including relationships with PK-12 settings.

We also welcome applicants whose scholarship employs other theoretical and methodological approaches that contribute to the study of Higher Education.

We welcome applicants from a broad range of scholarly traditionsand methodological approaches whose work contributes to the studyof Higher Education. The successful candidate may examine issues related to higher education organizations, leadership, governance,policy, student experiences, student outcomes, institutionaleffectiveness, workforce development, emerging technologies, K-12schooling, or other important dimensions of postsecondaryeducation. We seek applicants whose scholarship advances knowledge of Higher Education and prepare the next generation of scholars andleaders in the field.

The successful candidate will join a department whose facultyconduct research and prepare scholar-leaders across educationalsettings ranging from pre-K through higher education with aprominent record in globally engaged research, service and teaching. Responsibilities include conducting an active program of research and scholarship in Higher Education; seeking external funding support consistent with the candidate's research agenda andcareer stage; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Higher Education and Educational Policy & Leadership and an AAQEPAccredited Leadership program;

advising master's and doctoral students; serving on dissertation committees; contributing tostudent recruitment and program development activities; fosteringconnections with higher education institutions and professional organizations; and providing service to the department, school,university, and profession. The successful candidate will contribute to courses in Higher Education and departmental core,and research-methods courses consistent with their expertise.
