Location: City of Albany
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist works on desktop, server and mobile GIS applications and workflows.
Day to Day Tasks- Assist with developing, testing, implementing and maintaining desktop, server and mobile GIS applications and workflows.
- Document spatial workflows, procedures, and applications.
- Assist with the design, construction, management, and documentation of GIS datasets.
- Assist with management of IT infrastructure that supports GIS platform.
- Assist with mapping or analysis needs.
- Respond to GIS service desk tickets.
- Support NY State emergency response efforts.
- 1 (84) months of experience – Developing, implementing, testing, maintaining and enhancing new and existing geospatial applications from the Esri GIS server platforms that support visualization, analysis, mobile, and reporting solutions.
- 2 (24) months of experience – Designing, installing, managing and administering multi-tier ArcGIS Enterprise environments (including ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Hosting and ArcGIS Data Store).
- 3 (24) months of experience – Developing and supporting service-based geoprocessing interfaces between Esri GIS environments and other applications.
- 4 (60) months of experience – Managing spatial data and developing workflows and applications from Esri enterprise spatial databases.
- 5 (12) months of experience – Linear Referencing practices and concepts as they relate to transportation applications.
