Job Description At Atlas were providing services that enable communities to flourish and thrive and if youre an Industrial Hygiene Technician ready to support environmental site assessments and ensure safe compliant project execution and committed to doing meaningful work then this is your moment Youll conduct asbestos lead based paint mold and hazardous materials surveys; support abatement oversight; collect field data and samples;

and prepare accurate documentation and reports to guide project decisions Join a dynamic value driven client and community focused environment where your work creates a lasting positive impact for the people and communities we serve Core Responsibilities Under supervision conduct asbestos lead based paint mold andor other hazardous materials surveys

Provide asbestos and lead based paint oversight during abatement activities

Collect detailed field notes and photographs of site conditions and findings

Prepare chain of custody documents for analytical testing recording survey data on approved forms completely and legibly Ability to compose detailed sample location maps Compile and organize data for report Present data and make recommendations to upper level staff on recommendations Prepare reports or portions of reports detailing survey project information

After training use standard and specialized equipment such as hand tools for collection of building material samples high volume and low volume pumps rotometer XRF analyzer moisture meter mold pump infrared camera IAQ meter andor others After training ability to calibrate instruments use equipment in the field download data clean and maintain equipment Implement Atlass health and safety policies and procedures

Approval to drive a company vehicle or rental vehicles valid Drivers License and clean driving record

Travel locally and regionally to project sites as required

Work night shifts and weekends when required up to 70

Youll thrive here if you have High School Diploma or bachelors degree preferred in environmental science environmental studies industrial hygiene occupational health and safety public health project management construction or related field and 0 1 year of experience as an industrial hygiene technician

Valid drivers license must meet qualifications to successfully complete Drug Alcohol Testing Must be able to wear a respirator safety harness and other personal protective equipment as needed

Able willing to conduct asbestosleadmold remediation monitoring projects asbestosleadmold surveys andor exposure monitoring and specialized industrial hygiene projects
40 hr HAZWOPER certification preferred

A professional license in at least one of the following Asbestos Lead Mold is preferred

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Knowledge of federal state and local regulations applicable to asbestos and lead preferred

Technical report writing skills are preferred

Ability to climb stairs ladders and lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to travel locally Eastern NY up to 100 Ability to travel regionally New York State up to 50
