Senior Structural Engineer

Role description

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Semiconductor Sector. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for leading and ensuring all assigned structural projects are completed on time and on budget. You will oversee the quality and accuracy of structural documents, financial and schedule performance, and all client communication. The Engineer monitors multiple projects and the work being completed by Engineers and Designers and will have extensive knowledge of structural design including building codes and materials, engineering calculations, and design software.

Proven success working for A/E or EPCM consultancy companies in a similar role, supporting projects related to building structures for clean rooms, laboratories, semiconductor fab, data centers, solar manufacturing, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience designing and overseeing projects in a senior/lead role for building structures, work with multi-disciplined design teams, project managers, and construction management personnel. Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure required; S.E. license preferred.

• Perform and/or oversee the design and analysis of gravity and lateral framing systems for building structures and foundations.
• Review engineering calculations for accuracy and thoroughness. Review contract documents for quality assurance.
• Provide direction and oversight to engineers, designers, and drafters as required during the production of construction documents. Assists with deliverable production as required.
• Oversee construction administration tasks including submittal reviews, RFI responses, jobsite observations, and reviews of change orders and pay applications. Assist with these CA tasks as required.
• Assist with proposal development by creating labor-hour estimates and project scopes, present proposals and project updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Provide technical advice regarding safe designs and constructability.
• Support Designer and Engineer responsibilities as needed.
• Attend industry events and promote the company brand.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline, with minimum 7-10 years’ design / consulting experience, with minimum of 5 years’ supporting building structures projects. P.E. license required; S.E. license preferred.
• Software proficiencies should include MS Office Suite, MS Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, and structural design software.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English), along with attention to detail and organization. Ability to present before an audience of clients and stakeholders. Willingness to provide guidance and mentorship to more junior level professionals.
• Ability to take ownership and lead assignments, work both independently and as part of the team, supporting multiple projects at a time. Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Previous experience supporting industrial facilities projects is preferred.
• Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $130,000 – $160,000.

Salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
