Quality Engineer - Titanium Aerospace Manufacturing

We are a world‑class supplier of titanium components and castings for the aerospace industry, seeking a Quality Engineer to drive quality forward through effective communication both internally and externally.

Primary

Purpose:

The Quality Engineer ensures configuration control, collaborates across Engineering, Operations and Quality, manages customer accounts, and supports continuous improvement projects.

• Maintain configuration control documentation through contract review and blueprint/specification control.
• Work independently while collaborating across Engineering, Operations, and Quality.
• Manage multiple customer accounts including OEMs and sub‑tiers, and serve as backup QE for additional customers.
• Support Engineering by submitting waivers and concessions as required.
• Review and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Investigate and dispose of customer complaints and returns, supporting root‑cause analysis and solution development.
• Communicate and submit corrective actions to customers and internally.
• Review purchase orders for customer‑related items.
• Act as an internal quality representative, building strong working relationships across functions, including production personnel.
• Achieve certification for customer source inspection as necessary, completing required training and certification.
• Work toward continual improvement projects, identifying opportunities and supporting implementation of solutions.
• Provide training and coaching as needed.
• Be trained as an internal auditor and participate in internal, external, special process, and customer audits.
• Serve as subject matter expert for customer‑specific requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• 4+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or a comparable quality discipline.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; experience may offset this requirement.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic use of network and network folders.
• Ability to upload and download information from various customer websites.
• Effective communication skills in direct interactions and via email.
• Ability to write clear instructions that others can follow successfully.
• Strong organization and multitasking skills.
• Willingness to work in a high‑paced, team‑oriented environment with a hands‑on collaborative approach.
• Positive attitude and willingness to get the job done.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints, detailed customer specifications, and requirements.
• Work independently and be self‑directed.

• Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.
• Experience in the castings industry.
