Staff Water Engineer position located in Clifton Park, NY.
Role DescriptionWe are searching for a Staff Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team. This candidate will use their expertise and technical knowledge to deliver design work for water/wastewater clients in New York and across North America.
Qualifications & ExperienceAs a Staff Water Engineer you will evaluate, plan, design and support the management of projects for water and wastewater treatment and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities). You will exercise judgment on details of work, make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives, and complete technical reports with guidance from senior team members. The role includes occasional fieldwork such as site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring set-up and monitoring, technology evaluations, and plant operations information, process troubleshooting and optimization.
You will support professional engineering services during construction – observation, review of submittals and shop drawings, responses to RFIs, and permit closeouts. With guidance from senior level engineers you will also manage tasks as a project resource, completing allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations. When needed you will carry out investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions and prepare documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements and relevant national standards and codes of practice.
You will work in an interdisciplinary team, liaise with project managers/team leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters, contribute to the resolution of technical issues, provide technical guidance to other team members and collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution.

- Advanced research, data gathering, technical writing and analysis skills
- Developing skills including technical, project management, relationship management, sector expertise and commercial awareness
- Work independently
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, time management and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering
- Valid driver's license with the ability to commute to project sites
- 4 years’ of experience in engineering AND EIT Certification
- New York PE License
Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000.
Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
