Roadway Civil EIT

Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Upstate New York Transportation group has an immediate need for talented, team-focused Civil Engineer EITs with 0‑3 years of experience in specialty areas including roadway/highway design, traffic control & construction staging design, right‑of‑way engineering, access design, and utility engineering. The position is located in our Albany, NY office.

This position offers opportunities to work on a variety of transportation projects, ranging from local roads and complete streets to major interstates, shared‑use paths, and trails. You will learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.

• Use knowledge of general engineering concepts to support projects focused on transportation systems such as highways, streets, drainage structures, utilities, traffic signals, and roadway lighting.
• Perform basic calculations to analyze and design engineering system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Assist the team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations, and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
• Assist in interpreting and verifying compliance with applicable codes, standards, and practices.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers and professionals under the direction of a senior engineer.
• Provide support services during construction, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and contract document clarifications.
• Perform field work related to construction activities as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

• Basic understanding of general civil design concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Micro Station, In Roads, Open Roads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

• Civil engineering technician or technology diploma from a recognized community or technical college, or equivalent knowledge gained from experience.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in engineering consulting or construction industry.

Locations in MN, OH, VT, & various CA, NY areas — Min Salary $67,800.00 – Max Salary $94,900.00.
