We are looking for a dedicated Industrial Hygiene/Building Science Technician to join our team in Albany, NY. In this full-time role, you'll collaborate closely with our experts to assess indoor air quality, conduct building investigations, and implement environmental health and safety programs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in industrial hygiene, building science, and environmental health practices.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent building inspections for hazardous materials (e.g., asbestos, lead, and other building-related substances) at various job sites.
  • Perform air monitoring and inspections during the remediation of hazardous materials.
  • Develop and implement sampling plans for hazardous materials.
  • Analyze and interpret sampling data for hazardous materials.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Offer technical support to clients regarding hazardous materials issues.
  • Stay current with evolving regulations and best practices in hazardous materials management.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:

    2-5 years in hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, or industrial hygiene services. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (must be able to pass a Driver Background Check).
  • Ability to pass background checks for work with state and local governments, as well as defense contractor clients.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators and safety harnesses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred

    Certifications:
    • NY Asbestos Project Monitor License
    • NY Asbestos Inspector License
    • Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor Certification
    • NY Mold Inspector License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous materials (e.g., mold, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality) preferred.
Compensation

$20-30 hourly

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
