• Leads practical applications of scientific theory and unusually complex processes in the development and ongoing technical management of the unit's product line
• Leads research, development and implementation of new products and extensions or enhancements to existing product line
• Interact with key customers to resolve unusually complex process engineering issues for the unit's product line to address our customers High Value Problems (HVP)
• Leads alpha engineering program regarding all process technology related issues for the units product line
• Responsible for alpha and beta product release for business unit's product line
• Participates in strategic planning to integrate research and development processes with both the unit and the Product Business Group's overall business plan
• Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers

• Recognized as “guru” or external expert in a function
• Demonstrates broad and comprehensive expertise in leading‑edge theories, techniques and/or technologies within own field

• Influences internal/external business and/or regulatory issues that have an impact on the business

• Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership

• Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems; uses ground‑breaking methods to think beyond existing solutions

• Impacts business direction through the development of innovative services or products

• Negotiates with senior management, customers, regulators or vendors to influence decisions
