Senior Project Engineer – Wastewater

Laberge Group has an excellent opportunity for a motivated and talented applicant for a Senior Project Engineer to assist in designing and progressing public and private projects throughout New York. The successful applicant will work in a team environment on various types of civil/environmental engineering projects including municipal wastewater projects. Your skills and experience will be used to apply applicable code requirements, prepare technical reports, work with permitting agencies, and assist with construction phase services.

• Utilize technical knowledge and experience to develop the project team's overall capabilities.
• Manage projects from planning to design and construction of wastewater conveyance systems including pipelines, pump stations, storage, and end-of-pipe treatment facilities.
• Develop construction documents/specifications and handle engineering services during construction.
• Establish budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; create and manage cost estimates and project schedules.
• Coordinate execution of projects with other disciplines.
• Develop medium to large planning and design projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare complete construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of WW systems for clients.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations & analysis utilizing design software to solve complex issues.
• Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior‑level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.

• 10 – 15 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of municipal WW conveyance.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Experience in process design, treatment plant upgrades and pump station design.
• Client relationship skills including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful record of delivering a variety of engineering projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Strong data analysis and technical problem‑solving.
• Willingness to develop competence in a broad array of engineering‑related tasks.
• Ability to train and mentor junior‑level staff.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
