Job Description:
Position Summary, UPW/WWT Engineer
The Ultra-Pure Water/Wastewater Treatment (UPW/WWT) Engineer provides technical and operational leadership for the site's critical utility systems, including ultra-pure water, wastewater treatment (acid, fluoride and plating waste), industrial city water (ICW), and related systems. As the designated system owner, this position is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of utility infrastructure supporting NY Creates and tenant operations.
The role manages system capacity and performance, supports facility expansions and tool installations, and collaborates with internal stakeholders and tenants to ensure utility systems meet current and future manufacturing, research, and facility requirements. The Engineer also provides technical expertise for infrastructure upgrades, construction projects, and process optimization initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the system owner for UPW, WWT, Industrial City Water (ICW) and related utility systems.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of utility systems to meet facility performance, quality, and uptime requirements.
- Lead and develop operations and maintenance personnel through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Manage utility capacity, infrastructure planning, and system performance to support current and future facility needs.
- Support tenant operations, tool installations, and utility integration activities.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs, asset management activities, and CMMS utilization.
- Lead or support capital projects, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvements from planning through commissioning.
- Monitor system reliability and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, safety, building code, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets, stakeholder communications, and other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications , UPW/WWT Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
- Experience in facilities engineering, utility operations, manufacturing, industrial operations, or a related technical environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications , UPW/WWT Engineer
- Five (5) or more years of engineering experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial, or related environments.
- Experience with Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment (WWT), Industrial Water, Bulk Gas, or similar utility systems.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience with CMMS, SCADA, PLC controls, or building automation systems.
- Experience supporting capital projects, facility upgrades, or equipment installations.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
- Posted salary rates are determined upon experience and education
