CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Designer 1 to join our Electric Transmission Team in Albany, NY;
Syracuse, NY; or Atlanta, GA. In this role, you'll support the planning and design of electric transmission projects that help move power from generation sources to the communities, businesses, and customers who depend on it. This is a great opportunity to build your technical foundation while working alongside experienced designers and engineers on essential infrastructure projects tied to grid reliability, modernization, and long-term energy delivery.

What

You'll Do:
  • Produce and revise simple engineering drawings or sketches under the guidance of senior designers or engineers, following established technical standards
  • Examine drawings for accuracy and quality with support from senior team members
  • Participate in project review meetings and accompany senior staff on field assignments when appropriate
  • Utilize drawing production software such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, and REVIT to create construction documents
  • Assist with contract document preparation in order to develop familiarity with electric transmission codes, standards, and design practices
What You Bring:
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or a related technical field required
  • No prior experience required-related document production experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, etc.) and a willingness to learn electric transmission design practices

Salary Range:

$31.25 - $33.65

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
