The Assistant Engineer (Civil/Construction) position with the New York State Office of General Services involves supervising and inspecting moderate-size building construction projects, coordinating contractor operations, and ensuring compliance with contract specifications and standards. The role is based in Albany and includes approximately 20% travel, with duties supporting the structural and architectural elements of building projects.
Key qualifications:- Proof of passing the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination and a qualifying bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- One year of full-time engineering experience related to construction project supervision of building structural and architectural elements
- Valid New York State Driver's License or demonstrated capacity to meet transportation needs
- Current New York State employee with one year of permanent service in Grade 18 or above position (alternative pathway)
