Location: City of Albany
Electrical Engineer – MEP | EIT / PE Track
A growing MEP consulting engineering firm is seeking a degreed Electrical Engineer to join its collaborative engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in electrical building systems design who is looking to expand their technical skills, take on greater project responsibility, and continue progressing toward PE licensure.
Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, institutional, laboratory, and other building projects
- Develop electrical construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
- Design lighting, power distribution, branch power, fire alarm, and life-safety systems
- Perform electrical calculations, including load and voltage drop calculations
- Develop electrical plans, single-line diagrams, and related construction documents
- Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines
- Assist with NEC/code compliance, BIM coordination, site visits, and construction-phase support
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2–6 years of electrical engineering or MEP building systems design experience
- MEP consulting engineering experience preferred
- EIT certification and/or progress toward PE licensure strongly preferred
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of power distribution, lighting, and electrical building systems
- Familiarity with the NEC and applicable electrical codes
- Work on diverse and technically challenging projects
- Strong mentorship from experienced Professional Engineers
