Seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to support utility-scale solar, BESS, wind, substation, transmission, and power generation projects. This individual will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage development and permitting through detailed engineering, construction support, and project closeout.

Responsibilities

Lead civil engineering and design teams, ensuring quality, schedule, and technical excellence across project deliverables.
Partner with project managers to execute projects on time and within budget.
Coordinate with electrical, structural, transmission, and construction teams to resolve design challenges.
Review and manage work completed by external consultants and contractors.
Develop and oversee site layouts, grading plans, earthwork analyses, drainage systems, access roads, and equipment transport routes.
Lead civil and structural design efforts for high-voltage substations, including foundations, oil containment systems, control buildings, and cable trench infrastructure.
Support transmission line projects through foundation design coordination and site development planning.
Review geotechnical reports, survey data, and LiDAR information to support design decisions.
Support permitting efforts and regulatory approvals.
Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
Mentor junior engineers and designers while maintaining QA/QC standards.
Manage multiple projects and collaborate with geographically dispersed teams.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
5+ years of civil engineering experience supporting substations, switchyards, transmission, or power infrastructure projects.
Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, substation, and transmission projects.
Knowledge of industry standards including ACI, ASCE, ANSI, and IEEE.
Experience with in the power generation, utility, or renewable energy sectors.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD.Pro, SAP
2000, and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Engineering.
Consulting engineering experience.
Experience supporting high-voltage substation projects up to 765kV.
Experience with wind energy and conventional power generation facilities.
Strong geotechnical, site development, and multidisciplinary coordination experience.
Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
