duties description
duties include but may not be limited to:
- perform civil engineering duties including collecting and analyze data on existing infrastructure, topography, and environmental conditions. Review water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and other infrastructure systems.
- prepare site civil drawings and details, specifications, estimates, and/or studies for design projects.
- coordinate design drawings and related specifications, construction costs estimates, etc., with the other technical disciplines.
- actively manage the schedule of assigned projects according to workload, priorities, and design schedules.
- review reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates prepared by design consultants.
- actively oversee consultant design work for assigned projects.
- develop and maintain project documentation, including records of meetings, correspondence, and progress
- review shop drawings, respond to contractor requests for information, create and/or review information bulletins, and provide similar construction administration and observation during the project’s construction.
- perform a full range of supervisory duties, including reviewing the work of subordinate staff.

- travel may be required (approximately 20%).
- possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license issued by the nys department of motor vehicle is required or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.

* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position:
a new york state professional engineer's license and current registration and a qualifying bachelor's degree or higher as listed below; or a new york state professional engineer's license and current registration and one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience as listed below.
