• analyze and appraise the structural designs and specification requirements for large complex multi trade new or rehabilitated building construction projects.
• identify potential structural design and specifications problems and possible solutions, including cost effectiveness to structural material problems, structural systems and/or equipment.
• review structural design change orders resulting from design changes and change order requests during the design and building construction phases.
• supervise and direct subordinate building structural engineers and drafting technicians to prepare structural designs and specifications used in the structural installation of new and/or rehabilitation building construction projects.
• coordinate design drawings and related specifications, construction costs estimates, etc., with the other technical disciplines.
• actively manage the schedule of assigned projects according to workload, priorities, and design schedules.
• review reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates prepared by design consultants.
• actively oversee consultant design work for assigned projects.
• develop and maintain project documentation, including records of meetings, correspondence, and progress
• review shop drawings, respond to contractor requests for information, create and/or review information bulletins, and provide similar construction administration and observation during the project’s construction.
• assign, review, and manage consultant design work.
• perform a full range of supervisory duties.
• perform other duties as assigned.

• travel may be required (approximately 20%).
• possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license issued by the nys department of motor vehicle is required or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
