Location: City of Albany

The University at Albany Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to managing private gifts and grants in support of the University’s mission. The Foundation seeks a detail-oriented and service-focused professional to serve as Accounts Receivable Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, review, and process charitable contributions, pledge payments, and other revenue transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Code revenue to the appropriate general ledger accounts and fund restrictions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to resolve incomplete documentation, research discrepancies, and address complex transactions.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries related to cash receipts, revenue activity, and other assigned accounting transactions.
  • Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and other accounting duties as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure the confidentiality of financial and donor information.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and transaction processing.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial and donor information with discretion.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, general ledger coding, and financial recordkeeping.
  • Experience processing cash receipts, contributions, payments, or accounts receivable transactions.
  • Ability to reconcile transactions, identify discrepancies, and apply gift documentation or donor restrictions appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in accounts receivable, gift processing, or cash receipts, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles, including restricted funds and donor-designated gifts.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Experience working with donor databases or advancement services operations.
Benefits and Compensation

The Foundation is committed to a work‑life balance. The annual salary for this position is budgeted between $55,000 and $63,000 and is commensurate with experience. This full‑time position offers paid time off, health care, and retirement benefits.
