The Vice President of Treasury Services plays a key role in effectively managing the cash positions and various treasury functions of Albany Medical Center, while serving as a partner with other financial divisions to ensure effective and enhanced management of treasury goals and strategies. This position oversees cash management activities, administration of investment portfolios, and development and maintenance of financing strategies that maximize financial benefits and reduce risks.
Responsibilities- Implement and manage financing/debt arrangements to support capital acquisition, hold strategies, and working capital needs.
- Prepare and analyze requests for financing bids, evaluating comparability, competitiveness, risk, and flexibility.
- Monitor and renew revolving and term debt, reviewing refinancing opportunities and documenting necessary approvals.
- Negotiate terms with financial institutions to maximize benefits to AMC and maintain documentation for debt tracking.
- Ensure compliance reporting for financial institutions and government bodies, and deliver special reports as required.
- Coordinate advance requests under construction loans and equipment leases, and keep in collaboration with Financial Reporting for proper accounting.
- Serve as liaison with the Investment Committee, overseeing implementation of investment strategies and monitoring portfolio performance.
- Prepare agendas, review materials, and manage minutes for Investment Committee meetings; review quarterly reports from Investment Advisor.
- Advise the Investment Advisor on directives, portfolio issues, reporting, and presentations.
- Implement best practices for portfolios, including fiduciary training, charter updates, and investment policy statement maintenance.
- Monitor liquidity needs, track SIR disbursements and cash contributions, and assist with transition of investment advisors.
- Support short-term investment and cash strategies, manage bank deposit and treasury relationships, review fees, interest rates, and internal controls.
- Participate in AP spending oversight and review merchant services arrangements.
- Assist with real property acquisition, management, and leasing activities, including capital acquisition strategies, property budgeting, lease negotiation, and compliance checks.
- Supervise the Director of Treasury Services and Cash Management, evaluating processes for efficiency improvements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial or investment banking, with construction and permanent financing, and significant cash and investment management experience.
- Experience with real estate financing and management is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of capital acquisition strategies, financing terms, covenants, and regulatory agreements.
- Expertise in investment strategies, structures, and asset classes.
- Knowledge of cash management processes and systems, with ability to provide detailed forecasts and sensitivity analysis.
- Strategic thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet challenging deadlines in a collaborative environment.
