The New York State Education Department seeks Education Finance Specialist 1 and Trainee 1 positions in the Office of State Aid and Fiscal Analysis and Research Unit. These roles support the calculation, payment, verification, and projection of over $31 billion in annual State Aid to school districts and BOCES.
Responsibilities- Updating data collection forms.
- Reviewing district aid claims.
- Analyzing state aid data.
- Processing claim revisions.
- Assisting with system enhancements and training materials.
- Bachelor's degree or higher required.
- For Education Finance Specialist 1:
Two years of professional work experience in an educational agency performing financial support calculations, payment authorization, or fiscal transaction auditing. - For Education Finance Specialist Trainee 1:
Bachelor's degree or higher. - Experience with data analysis, database management, and web-based software systems.
- Knowledge of education finance, state aid formulas, and education law preferred.
