Associate, Private Credit Solutions

With over $200 billion of client capital invested across hedge funds, private equity, private credit, real estate, and direct investments/co-investments, the Global Alternatives Investment Solutions team delivers a "best in class" platform for sourcing and accessing differentiated alternative investment opportunities for institutional, private banking, and wealth management clients.

Within Global Alternative Investment Solutions ("GAIS"), Private Credit Solutions is a long-tenured, multi-manager platform with $47bn of capital committed, 24 investment professionals, and deep connectivity across the private credit ecosystem, including 150+ GP relationships and 80+ LP investments since inception, reflecting 18+ years of dedicated private credit investing.

Job Summary

As an Associate on the Private Credit Solutions team, you will play a key role in originating, underwriting, and executing private credit secondary investments, with additional exposure to primary fund commitments and co-investments. You will contribute across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and diligence through investment committee ("IC") approval, closing execution, and ongoing portfolio monitoring, while partnering directly with senior investment professionals and external counter parties globally.

This role offers meaningful responsibility, frequent interaction with fund managers and intermediaries, and the opportunity to develop a differentiated view across private credit strategies, market cycles, and relative value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate opportunities across LP-led and GP-led private credit secondary transactions; maintain an active pipeline and proactively screen new ideas.
  • Drive underwriting and diligence on funds, loan portfolios, managers, and underlying exposures; synthesize findings into clear investment views and actionable recommendations.
  • Build and refine financial models to assess expected returns, downside protection, key sensitivities, and risk-adjusted attractiveness.
  • Own IC and stakeholder materials including IC memoranda, underwriting decks, and recurring portfolio reviews with robust projections and well-supported assumptions.
  • Coordinate end-to-end execution by managing diligence work streams and interfacing sponsors, intermediaries, fund managers, legal advisors, and internal partners through closing.
  • Monitor portfolio performance versus underwriting case; identify drivers of variance, emerging risks, and opportunities to optimize outcomes.
  • Develop market perspective by tracking trends, macro conditions, and strategy performance across US and global private credit markets; translate research into insights for the team.
  • Collaborate globally with colleagues across New York, London, and India to support team-wide initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience (e.g., private credit secondaries, direct lending, private credit investing, leveraged finance, financial sponsors, M&A, or related investing).
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and underwriting skillset; ability to assess credit risk and analyze complex transactions with sound judgment.
  • Experience producing investment committee materials and performing investment due diligence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present structured, defensible conclusions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment; collaborative, high-ownership mindset.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Direct experience evaluating, underwriting, and/or executing private credit secondary transactions.
  • Knowledge of private credit fund structures, portfolio valuation methodologies, and secondary transaction dynamics.
  • A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA) or progress towards CFA is a plus.
