Summary of Role:
This role is responsible for the collection of delinquent loan accounts and related collection issues.
- Responsible for the collection of accounts assigned by department management, including member negative share balances, Master Card accounts, mortgage and home equity accounts, consumer and small balance commercial loan accounts.
- Responsible for the accurate maintenance of records that may be used in the collection of accounts
- Acquire and preserve knowledge of state and federal laws as they pertain to Bankruptcy and Collection
- Knowledgeable with the regulations surrounding the right of offset and freezing funds with regards SSI, SSD and Pension.
- Retain state and federal laws with regard to repossessions
- Well Informed with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the CFPB as they pertain to collections
- Maintain a business relationship with outside collection attorneys, repossession agents, and other collection-related vendors to ensure accurate and timely service
- Responsible keeping the reposession spreadsheet accurate and up to date
- Accountable for assigning repossession out to our vendor using the repossession software
- Responsible for providing accurate costs and fees associated with repossessions
- Send repossession inventory to be inspected and detailed and or transported
- Prepares Right to Redeem letters, Public Sale letters, and Deficiency balance letters
- Processes all sales proceeds and distributes them to the proper locations (i.e. Collection Expense GL, Repossession GL, Bankruptcy GL and member loan)
- Contacts creditors to obtain lien releases
- Applies all payments received from Lee & Mason
- Processes all service requests received for the department
- Review accounts for charge off after sale proceeds have been processed.
- Other duties as needed
Job Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from accredited college or university
- Minimum five (5 ) years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Starting Compensation: $20.68 - $24.82/hr., plus a competitive benefits package
