Location: City of Albany
The Public Safety Grants Representative role, based in Albany at the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, manages federal and state grant contracts awarded to counties, local jurisdictions, and nonprofits throughout New York State. Responsibilities include reviewing grant applications, preparing contracts with budgets and work plans, monitoring grantee compliance, conducting site visits, and assisting with program administration. This is a full‑time position with 40% travel requirement and potential for emergency response deployment.
KeyQualifications
- Four to six years of experience reviewing grant applications and proposals depending on appointment level
- Technical assistance to grantees with budgeting, vouchering, and program reporting
- Evaluation of funded projects for compliance with program goals and contract provisions
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse professional groups and conduct site monitoring visits
- Valid New York State Driver's License or demonstrated ability to meet transportation needs
