Location: City of Albany
Environmental Analyst 2
Environmental Analyst 2 serves as a senior environmental specialist within the New York Division of Military and Naval Affairs, supervising staff and coordinating complex environmental analysis, permitting, and regulatory compliance for military installations. The role involves managing wetland and environmental permits, conducting environmental assessments, overseeing remediation programs, and ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws including SEQRA and NEPA.
Key qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in related field plus 4 years environmental impact analysis experience, or Associate's degree plus 6 years experience (2 years supervisory)
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental legislation, wetlands permits, and SEQRA/NEPA processes
- Ability to supervise and train subordinates and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and valid New York driver's license
- Ability to obtain security clearance and pass background investigation per National Guard Bureau standards
