Duties Description The New York State Senate Finance Committee (SFC) is seeking candidate(s) for Budget Analyst position(s). The Senate Finance Committee advises Senators on the fiscal implications of all legislation, with detailed involvement in the development and negotiation of the $277 billion state budget. Analysts work within a highly visible public policy atmosphere on important issues affecting New Yorkers. Analysts are expected to become subject matter experts on the fiscal or budget policy areas within their portfolio.

Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting and reporting on state budget negotiations on behalf of the conference in assigned issue areas.
- Reviewing, monitoring, analyzing, summarizing, and reporting on the Executive Budget proposal and other legislation, with a particular emphasis on the priorities of the conference.
- Reviewing and editing correspondence, press releases, research literature, and memoranda related to budget matters.
- Briefing Senators and senior staff on budgetary progress.
- Presenting analyses of policies and legislation to senior staff and Senators.
- Preparing written reviews and analyses of State budget and other legislation with fiscal implications referred to the Finance Committee and other Committees.
- Meeting with relevant advocacy and constituency groups.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must have a demonstrated interest in public policy and should possess a Master's Degree (or near completion) in Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Law, Political Science, or a related field and/or a Doctorate Degree (or near completion) in Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Law,…
