The Investigative Specialist 4 supervises investigative units within the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General, conducting complex fraud and abuse investigations to protect program integrity. The role includes supervising downstate regional office staff, evaluating complaints, conducting personal investigations, and coordinating with other agencies. The position is based in New York City with statewide oversight responsibilities and requires 20% travel.
Keyqualifications
- Two years of permanent service as an Investigative Specialist 2 (Medicaid), or nine years of qualifying investigative experience with two years at supervisory level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new data systems
- Valid driver's license or demonstrated ability to meet transportation requirements
- Associate degree in criminal justice or related field may substitute for two years of experience; bachelor's degree may substitute for four years
