Location: City of Albany
The Investigative Specialist 2 (Cannabis)
The Investigative Specialist 2 (Cannabis) is a Lead Investigator position with the New York Office of Cannabis Management, supervising investigative staff and conducting enforcement, regulatory, and licensing investigations. The role involves interviewing witnesses, reviewing cases, developing investigative plans, conducting surveillance, managing evidence, and preparing detailed reports in coordination with law enforcement agencies. The position is located in Albany and requires substantial travel (approximately 40%) with potential evening and weekend assignments.
Keyqualifications:
- Seven years of field investigative experience conducting interviews, taking statements, collecting evidence, and preparing investigative reports; or an associate degree in criminal justice (substitute
- Valid New York State Driver's License and ability to meet transportation requirements
- Ability to meet Peace Officer status requirements and obtain/maintain required firearm permit within twelve months
- Possession of valid New York City or local county firearm permit (preferred)
- Current Peace Officer status (preferred)
