The Senior Budgeting Analyst/Budgeting Analyst Trainee position supports the Finance Unit within the Office of Disaster Recovery at the New York Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. The incumbent prepares and monitors spending plans, develops FEMA Public Assistance Projects, analyzes budgeting data, and coordinates with state agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements. The role may include supervisory responsibilities and requires support during emergency operations.
Keyqualifications:
- Four to six years of experience in budget estimation, justification, and expenditure control functions (depending on level)
- Associate degree may substitute for two years, bachelor's degree for four years, or master's degree for five years of specialized experience
- Valid Driver's License issued by the Department of Motor Vehicle or demonstrated capacity to meet transportation needs
- Knowledge of budget monitoring, FEMA Public Assistance programs, and state financial systems
- Ability to analyze data and present findings to program staff and supervisory personnel
