Job Description

Medical Coder I - Albany, NY s is a hybrid role with required residence within 50 miles of Progressive's Albany Claims office at 725 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Reports to an office about four days per month for meetings, training, and collaboration; more in-office days possible upon preference.

• Review health insurance EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) on excess claims to ensure proper payment.
• Ensure AOB (Assignment of Benefits) has been submitted to provider (in states where applicable).
• Provide timely bill processing per state guidelines.

• Minimum Education:
  
  High School/GED.
• Coding certification or six months as a medical coder or equivalent administrative experience.
• Strong data entry skills; knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology; knowledge of medical coding rules and local statutes; proficient in use of the Internet.
• Must successfully obtain and maintain required state licenses.

  Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 16% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
