It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remote in the state of New York. Work location subject to change based on business needs.
The Director of Nursing coordinates provision of home health services to maintain compliance by directing professional practices, company policies and procedures, standards of practice, local, state and federal rules and regulations, and URAC/ACHC standards. The DON organizes, plans, implements, and evaluates agency services, programs and activities, with oversight of subcontracted services. Ensures adequate, effective, efficient, and appropriate delivery of services to maintain quality day to day care for all clients.
The primary purpose is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facilities, and may be directed by the Medical Director to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
The Director of Nursing Services is an RN who has graduated from an accredited school of nursing and is currently licensed to practice in the State (s), which is currently practicing. She/he supervises home health services to homebound patients in their place of residence in accordance with attending physician's orders and plans of care and strives to provide the highest quality of care.
QualificationRequirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
- Minimum of five (5) years in home care nursing or hospital nursing experience required
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical leadership experience required
- Active, valid Registered Nursing license in Nevada in good standing required
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Willing to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (when necessary to attend meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.)
- Specialty certification preferred
- Nurse License Compact location preferred
- Basic knowledge of home health regulations preferred
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
- Recruitment, retention, and training of the nurses.
- Manage nursing department expenses and budget.
- Knowledgeable in terms of products and services for nursing.
- Maintain a reference library of written nursing material (i.e, PDR’S, Federal and State Regulations, etc.,) that will assist the nursing service department in meeting the day-to-day needs of the patient.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
- Assist the VP Operations in developing, implementing and periodically updating the written procedures for new patient admissions and ongoing management of active patients.
