• Meal preparation in accordance with prescribed diets and consistencies in accordance to the planned menu.
• Communicate any dietary concerns/information to the dietitian as needed.
• Shop for food and supplies as needed and maintain a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen and dining area, including kitchen equipment, in accordance with the agency standards and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized pantry/food storage area.
• Perform inventory checks, attend meetings and trainings as needed, and assist with menu planning.
• The Cook will be assigned a minimal amount of personal care responsibilities, but may need to play a greater role if the program is short-staffed.
• On average, the Cook will spend approximately 75% of the scheduled shift engaged in meal preparation and 25% with Direct Support Professional responsibilities.

• The candidate should have some cooking experience and organizational skills. The ability to learn, follow a menu and work independently is also required. The candidate needs to be a self-starter, able to create a menu and shop accordingly within the budget. Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus.
• High School Diploma/GED is required. Proof will need to be provided prior to employment.
• Valid NYS Driver's license is required.
