The Center for PA Studies at Albany Medical College is seeking a new member to join their didactic faculty. This is a 1.0 FTE, year‑round position. Candidates may come from a variety of educational backgrounds including, but not limited to, PAs, MDs/DOs, PhDs, or other graduate‑level training relevant to PA education. A Master’s degree is required and a doctoral degree is a plus.
Responsibilities- Planning and delivering course content.
- Student advisement.
- Program, curricular, and student evaluation.
- Active participation in accreditation activities.
- Screening and selection of students for admission.
- Participation in departmental and institutional committees as assigned.
- Master’s degree required; doctoral degree a plus.
- Paid-Agent: PAs licensed or eligible for PA licensure in New York State and have current NCCPA Certification or Emeritus Certification.
- Experience or training in PA education, clinical practice, or related fields is desirable.
Academic rank and compensation may vary depending on training and experience.
The Albany Medical College PA Program is the third oldest in the state and the 11th oldest in the nation, with continuous accreditation since 1972. We have 10 full‑time faculty with 2.0 FTE of administrative support housed 100% within the department, serving 42 students per cohort. This 28‑month program commences in January. Students complete four terms (16 months) of didactic education and 12 months of clinical experience.
In addition to accreditation‑required rotations, students also complete two elective rotations, a required orthopedics rotation, and a rotation in Comprehensive Interprofessional Care with multidisciplinary teams at the Albany Med Health System and other community facilities. Students have access to a cadaver lab, medical library, and advanced simulation center (Patient Safety and Clinical Competency Center, or PSCCC).
