Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Colorectal Surgery unit with a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic EMR proficiency required.

Job Details

• Day shift position, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts,

• Post-surgical unit caring for patients who have undergone colorectal and urologic surgery,

• Patient population includes post-operative cases involving TPN, NG tubes, and central lines,

• Close collaboration with Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) nurses for ostomy and wound care,

• Every other weekend required,

• Rotating holiday coverage required,

• No block scheduling or 48-hour shift requests,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration,

• Current BLS and any additional certifications must be issued by AHA or RQI,

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med/Surg or colorectal/surgical specialty required,

• Candidates with fewer than 2 years of experience must pass a Med/Surg competency test (2 attempts allowed),

• 1 year of experience at a 600+ bed academic hospital accepted with a passing competency test score,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• US Social Security Number required,

• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months,

• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted - personal or religious declinations will not be accepted,

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs are required,

• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible:
Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington,

• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application,

• More than 3 call-outs in a 13-week contract period may result in contract termination; make-up shifts must be completed within 6 weeks of the last call-out,

• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position,
