Phlebotomist

• Assist in determining the suitability of donors
• Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality
• Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
• Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
• Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
• Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
• Work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F in the plasma freezer
• Stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
• Bend and twist neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day
• Frequently move both hands and walk up to 6-8 hours per day
• Infrequently squat, crouch, or sit on one's heels
• Reach below shoulder height
