Essential Functions:
The following list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
- Responsible for cleaning of corridors, guest areas, service areas and linen closets.
- Vacuum, sweep and mop carpets and floors.
- Dust, brush, polish and vacuum furniture as needed.
- Disinfect bathroom stalls, counter tops, toilets and urinals. Restock all bathroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.).
- Clean all glass surfaces (windows, doors, table tops, etc.).
- Carry all trash and broken-down cardboard boxes to dumpsters.
- Deliver cots and cribs to guest rooms.
- Report lost and found items, maintenance problems or special room problems to Executive Housekeeper.
- Mop vending machine areas and keep machines clean.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas (hallways, laundry room, chemical rooms).
- Assist co-workers when your help is needed. Clean rooms as needed.
- Provide information to guests about hotel services, facilities and other amenities.
- Listen and respond professionally to guests’ requests or complaints.
- Show up for work in a clean, pressed uniform with nametag. Arrive at work each day with a positive attitude and maintain that attitude throughout the workday.
- If you must have an unscheduled day off, it is your responsibility to find someone to replace yourself on the schedule.
- Check with supervisor for any additional work before punching out.
- Represent MCHG in a positive and beneficial way when making contacts within the community.
Specific Job
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk a total of 8 hours in a day.
- Must be able to lift 35–50 lbs.
- Must be able to carry 20–35 lbs. up to a distance of 200 ft.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, grasp, push and pull.
