The Equal Opportunity Specialist 2 works in the Human Resources Management Section of the New York State Department of Public Service, coordinating the implementation of diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity initiatives. The role involves analyzing data, assisting with employee training on DEI issues, reviewing personnel actions for fairness and equity, investigating discrimination complaints, and developing programming to enhance cultural awareness.
Key qualifications:- Seven years of experience in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or human rights
- One year of New York State service in equal opportunity, diversity, minority business, employment compliance, human resources, or training at Grade 18 or above
- Associate's degree (substitutes 2 years), bachelor's degree (4 years), or J.D./master's degree (5 years)
- Experience with organizations concerned with equal opportunity, diversity, civil rights, or minority business development
- Knowledge of federal and State laws regarding reasonable and religious accommodations
