Overview
Immediate Hire — O&M Lead. Kern Bellows is looking for an Application Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Lead to support the USASOC-NCR Web-based Application, a mission-critical platform for Active Duty, Reserve, and Civilian recruitment activities. This is a hands-on role—you’ll be the focal point for ensuring the application remains secure, reliable, and user-friendly while operating in a high-security DoD environment.
Location: Remote (CONUS-based)
Clearance: Active DoD Secret (preferred)
Responsibilities- Maintain and enhance the NCR Application to ensure proper function and continuity of recruiting operations.
- Support automation of recruit identification, communication, and application processing.
- Triage and resolve software flaws, coding issues, and user-reported bugs.
- Deliver user interface (UI) updates and customer-driven questionnaire/workflow enhancements.
- Ensure compliance and security best practices across the application and its portals.
- Liaise with system users to understand needs and provide solutions or workarounds.
- Assist with integration of NCR Application into external systems.
- Extend documentation and support future O&M handover activities.
- Stand up and maintain cloud environment components.
- Active Secret Clearance (preferred, not required).
- 5 years of hands-on experience in application maintenance, Dev Sec Ops , or ITSM
. - Strong skills in bug triage, troubleshooting, and UI/UX updates
. - Experience with cloud environments (AWS Gov Cloud/IL5 strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with DoD security/compliance best practices
. - Strong communication skills to liaise with system users and leadership.
- Project Management or Scrum Master certifications (PMP, ITIL, Agile, etc.) are a plus.
This role supports the warfighter mission directly by keeping a critical SOF recruiting platform mission-ready. You’ll be at the center of a high-visibility DoD program with opportunities to shape how modern recruiting systems operate in secure environments.
