IT Specialist

Requirements

• One year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25 or higher
• Experience in a role at the SG23 level or above classified as administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law
• Familiarity with IRS Publication 1075, Social Security Administration, and FBI CJIS programs
• Proven ability to manage compliance programs and audit requirements
• Strong supervisory skills for overseeing a compliance team
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with federal agencies
• Technical knowledge related to IT infrastructure and security
• Proven ability to identify compliance gaps and training needs
• Capacity to prepare and present reports to executive management

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the ITS federal compliance program, ensuring adherence to audit requirements
• Act as the main contact for federal inquiries and audit requests
• Coordinate timely and accurate responses to federal audits, including IRS safeguard reviews and Security Reports
• Supervise the federal Compliance Team, ensuring accuracy, deadlines, and compliance
• Facilitate collaboration with ITS units to ensure alignment with federal standards
• Manage communication and outreach efforts during federal audits
• Track and manage remediation efforts for audit findings, prioritizing as necessary
• Assist in drafting reports for ITS Executive Management
• Serve as a liaison during federal on-site audits
• Establish and enhance workflows to support compliance and audit readiness
• Identify compliance gaps and collaborate with technology owners for resolution
• Assess staff training needs and coordinate appropriate resources
• Perform additional duties as assigned
