IT Project Technicians are primarily responsible for implementing IT projects for customers through four areas of the project lifecycle - planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close. The IT Project Technician assists with design and initiation of new projects as needed.
Qualifications- Minimum three (3) years installing and administering supported Microsoft Server platforms.
- Minimum three (3) years virtualization experience installing and administering VMware vSphere Hypervisor and vCenter Server environments.
- Minimum three (3) years IP networking experience.
- Experience with the configuration, installation and maintenance of Layer 2/3 network switches, Routers, Wireless Access Points & Controllers, and Firewalls.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 services is a must.
- Project management and planning experience.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask and deliver professional services independently as well as with a team.
- Technical writing and documentation.
- Do what-ever-it-takes attitude.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Technical certifications are desired (VCP, VCAP, CCNA, MCSE, etc.) but not required; be ready to learn from and educate peers.
- Provides planning, implementation, and support for customer’s local and wide area networks, servers, sans, virtual environments, and cloud service providers.
- Meets regularly with customers, peers, and managers to assess ongoing projects.
- Creates technical documentation.
- Establishes daily priorities from project plans and schedules, coordinating project work with customers and the Manager, Proactive Services.
- Documents consulting activities for billing and reference purposes.
- Interacts effectively with customers, peers, and management.
- Serves as an escalation resource for Managed Services Help Desk team on assigned dates.
- Presents TAG Solutions in a professional manner.
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all TAG Solutions and customer information assets.
