Duties Description Direct or participate on projects which seek to improve or establish new agency or enterprise operations. Incumbents analyze current business processes; coordinate with stakeholders and other organizations; develop and implement changes; and assist with all phases of the project lifecycle.
The Project Assistant's duties include performing business analysis work for the Justice Court Fund Modernization Project, a multi-year redesign project to replace legacy systems that enable the collection and processing of justice reports.
Minimum Qualifications To be appointed to the Project Assistant, you must have:
* At least seven (6) years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis
AND
* At least three (2) years of experience in business process analysis for business process improvements or IT solutions
An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of general experience.
A Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience.
A Master's Degree in a closely related field may be substituted for an additional one (1) year of the general experience.

* Experience documenting requirements (e.g., process models, data flow diagrams, user stories, wireframes, data models, use cases)
* Experience translating requirements into technical specifications
* Experience creating and performing integration, system, and acceptance tests
Telecommuting:
The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency's mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee's primary residence location, duties, and work performance are aligned with telecommuting and operational needs they may be allowed to do so.
Generally, OSC employees may telecommute up to 5 days per pay period but may be approved to telecommute less.
